O trabalho da/o assistente social frente o projeto ético político profissional na Pró-Reitoria de Assuntos Estudantis da Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-2021

Abstract

The topic of this monography stems from the insertion in the supervised internship field in the Student Assistance (PRAE) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), in the period between the years 2018 to 2021, not being possible the conclusion of the semester of 2020, due to the pandemics of Covid-19. This research focuses on the professional work of social workers in the Public Policy of College Education, particularly the Student Assistance. The objective of this work is to investigate the challenges and advances of Social Service front the Professional Political Ethical Project, in defense and effectuation of the Public Policy of College Education as a social right, contributing to the conditions of access and permanence of the student in the university. In this monographic work, the historical process of the higher education in Brazil is contextualized and presents itself, from its genesis, as elitist, mercantilist and exclusionary, making it impossible for the materialization education as a social right in its whole extension. This study presents the National Program of Student Assistance (PNAES) as a strategy for the permanence and conclusion of graduation. It approaches the creation, execution and the follow-up of programs and projects that enable the necessary conditions to the access, permanence and conclusion of the superior education. It also depicts the work of Social Service in this socio occupational space articulated to the Professional Political Ethical Project. This research was based on bibliographic and documentary sources, such as management reports between the years 2018 to 2021, meeting minutes, socioeconomic assessment, interview and social opinion, collective meetings with students and social workers and scientific productions. As a conclusion, it was identified that in adverse times and conditions such as the current ones, challenges and limitations were placed in the professional routine of social workers, who face setbacks, the withdrawal of rights and cuts in resources destined to Public Universities.
