Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of notarial and registry services in the digital era, highlighting technological advances, challenges, and impacts on the Brazilian notarial and registration system. The research investigates how digitalization has transformed the provision of these services, promoting greater efficiency, accessibility, and legal security. The modernization of notary offices in Brazil has been driven by regulatory milestones such as CNJ's Provimento No. 100/2020 and Law No. 14,382/22, which established digital platforms for the remote execution of notarial acts. The implementation of e-Notariado and the Electronic System of Public Records (Serp) has optimized processes, reducing bureaucracy and expanding citizens' access to extrajudicial services. However, digital exclusion remains a significant obstacle, particularly for populations with little familiarity with technology or without access to quality internet. Another essential aspect is information security, which requires rigorous measures to ensure the authenticity and integrity of electronic documents. Digital certification and cryptography have been fundamental in this context, although the risks of cyberattacks still demand constant improvements in technological infrastructure and the training of professionals. The digitalization of notarial services is an irreversible and promising process, but it requires effective public policies to ensure that technological advancements result in an accessible, secure, and efficient service for the entire population.
