| Resumo: | O presente estudo investiga a relevância da Defensoria Pública como um pilar fundamental para assegurar o acesso à justiça de grupos vulneráveis no Brasil. O trabalho teve como objetivo principal analisar as atribuições e responsabilidades da Defensoria Pública, evidenciando seu papel no cenário da promoção da igualdade jurídica e na inclusão social por meio de projetos voltados aos grupos vulneráveis. Utilizou-se o método dedutivo, com análise documental e revisão bibliográfica de legislações, doutrinas e estudos de casos que abordam a atuação da Defensoria, obtendo assim, resultados que evidenciaram que a Defensoria Pública não apenas garante direitos fundamentais, mas também contribui para a inclusão social por meio de iniciativas e projetos que promovem o conhecimento e o exercício de direitos. Concluiu-se então, que a Defensoria Pública, além de ser um instrumento de democratização da justiça, fortalece a cidadania e reduz as desigualdades sociais ao proporcionar amparo jurídico e inclusão social à população em situação de vulnerabilidade. |
| Abstract: | ABSTRACT This study investigates the relevance of the Public Defender's Office as a fundamental pillar to ensure access to justice for vulnerable groups in Brazil. The main objective of the work was to analyze the attributions and responsibilities of the Public Defender's Office, highlighting its role in the promotion of legal equality and social inclusion through projects aimed at vulnerable groups. The deductive method was used, with documentary analysis and bibliographic review of legislation, doctrines and case studies that address the role of the Public Defender's Office, thus obtaining results that showed that the Public Defender's Office not only guarantees fundamental rights, but also contributes to social inclusion through initiatives and projects that promote the knowledge and exercise of rights. It was concluded that the Public Defender's Office, in addition to being an instrument for the democratization of justice, strengthens citizenship and reduces so-cial inequalities by providing legal support and social inclusion to the population in vulnerable situations.
