Qualidade fisiológica de sementes salvas e certificadas de soja (Glycine max L.).

Abstract

Soybeans are a very important crop in the global economy. This includes the choice of high-quality seeds, which must have characteristics such as germination, vigor, purity and sanity. However, in search of reducing costs, many producers often choose to use seeds saved from previous harvests. The present study aimed to evaluate the physiological quality of saved and certified soybean seeds from farmers in the southeastern region of Goiás, this includes the choice of high quality seeds, which must have characteristics such as germination, vigor, purity and health, and the seed may be a limiting factor, ensuring germination and vigor is a security of success in production, the cultivars of the saved soybeans used were Challenge 8473RSF from the 2022/23 harvest and Olympus 80I82RSF , the so-called saved seeds of the 2023 harvest for each cultivar, the certified commercial seed of the first generation of the year 2023 was also evaluated. There was a significant difference by the F test for the seed production system. The variations in electrical conductivity may be related to the lignin content in the seed integument, because there is a close relationship between this content and the results of the electrical conductivity test. The results allow us to conclude that the seeds of the Olimpo salva cultivar are recommended to be planted by the producer, as it presented minimum germination and vigor standards recommended by the RAS.
