Atuação fonoaudiológica no transtorno alimentar restritivo evitativo (TARE): revisão integrativa

Abstract

Introduction: In Brazil, speech therapy care for children and adults with difficulty sucking and swallowing. The adequacy of dysfunctions involved in feeding such as (sucking, breathing, swallowing and chewing) has occurred since 1990. According to (SBP, 2012) the period of 2 to 6 years is necessary for the sedimentation of habits, as there is a transition that commonly presents a natural aspect of child development, called food selectivity. Objective: To investigate and identify the speech therapy performance in TARE in childhood and its implications for the development of language, orofacial motricity and speech. Method: Study of an integrative literature review, of the qualitative and quantitative type, which had as procedures and instruments for data collection the search in databases that presented the speech therapist working with the patients, the family or in an inter/multidisciplinary team dealing with TARE , published between 2007 and 2022, in Portuguese. Results and Discussion: 12 articles were included to organize the results arranged in tables highlighting the type of research, area of education of the authors, year of publication, Federative Unit (UF) and the description of the performance of the speech therapist in the research. Conclusion: The research on children diagnosed with avoidant-restrictive eating disorder (RAD) in childhood proved to be relevant and despite the role of the speech therapist being recognized, the literature that deals with the role of the speech therapist in the performance is still scarce.
