Abstract

This work is the result of the development of the project to be presented in the TCC discipline of the Polytechnic and Arts School of PUC Goiás. Its objective is to propose a requalification project for the building of the Jockey Club of Goiás, inaugurated in 1975 and currently in a state of abandonment. Located in the center of Goiânia, the building represents an important historical and architectural landmark of the city, but faces physical degradation and loss of connection with the urban fabric. The proposal consists of transforming the space into a multifunctional sports complex, housing a training center for collective and individual sports, as well as areas for events. The architectural intervention seeks to preserve the original structure of the building, combining it with contemporary adaptations that respect its memory and promote new social dynamics. The project also aims to reestablish the integration of the building with its surroundings, revaluing landscape elements and the permeability between important roads in the city. In this way, the initiative aims to revitalize an underutilized heritage, contributing to the strengthening of the sports infrastructure and the reactivation of the urban center of Goiânia.
