O SÍTIO ARQUEOLÓGICO GO-CP-06: CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE AS FIGURAÇÕES RUPESTRES

Abstract

: This text is part of the research project entitled “Archaeological Heritage of the Southeast region in Goiás”. The project deals with the complex of 54 archaeological sites located in Palestine de Goiás/GO. We investigate one of the sites identified as GO-CP-06, in particular its rock paintings. In addition to the technical work carried out with the aim of comparing the results with previous research, which could lead us to greater precision regarding the study of the GO-CP-06 site, this research aimed to problematize and discuss the archaeological cultural practices that involve the production of rock figures and aspects of the site that could be related to everyday practices. Therefore, we carried out a brief and initial theoretical discussion that involves conceptual problematizations about image and figuration, considering the issue of material analysis as central to the development of the research. Between the initial indication of a greater theoretical discussion and the methodological and material work, it was thought to also carry out a reading of the site's context in order to reflect on the relationship between landscape and place. This objective was achieved by creating new plans and profiles, based on the previous model. The reflections were motivated by the practice and procedures of fieldwork at the GO-CP-06 site and processing in the laboratory, such as comparing images with the aid of D-strech and vectorization software (Corel-Drawn). The review of the decals was carried out only in the book publication (SCHMITZ et al, 1986), as the plastics, 37 years after the publication of the results of the research, started in the 1970s, were not located in the IGPA collection
