Abstract

The main theme of this legal monograph is the fundamental role of the Military Police in maintaining public safety, showing the problems that arise when this institution responsible for protecting the population abuses its power and violates the human and fundamental rights of society. The work also aims, through bibliographical research, to talk about the new law (13.869/19) that revoked the old law (4.898/65) that governed crimes of abuse of authority, showing the necessary advances in this area, since the old law was formulated at the time of the military dictatorship.
