The present work approaches the theme, Educational Inequality and Social Inequality in the School of Basic Education, discussing it from some ideological justifications that try to explain how it happens in the educational process. As it is a complex issue-problem, which does not have a single determining factor, the approach of this study was based on three concepts: poverty, policies, and socio-pedagogical; that seek to explain educational and social inequalities in basic education. The methodology used was the bibliographical research, to identify authors that brought along the investigation, contributing in some way to the study present in the inequalities in basic education. I highlight the authors Miguel Arroyo, Tomaz Silva and Pierre Bourdieu, who brought significant contributions to make this investigation possible. The result of this study is found in this monograph, in which I present the explanations, almost always ideological, and others with research data, which justify the educational and social inequalities in basic education.
