Revisão integrativa sobre o gênero Philcoxia

Abstract

The genus Philcoxia belongs to the Plantaginaceae family, the first to compose the species was Philcoxia minensis, followed by Philcoxia bahiensis and Philcoxia goiasensis. The main objective of this study was to characterize the scientific production on the Philcoxia genus. To search for studies in the titles, abstracts and keywords of the articles, the term “Philcoxia” was used. The period and the language were not defined. From the articles found, the following data were collected and organized in a spreadsheet. Then, each bibliography was read in full to note the objectives of the works. The data were tabulated and organized in a spreadsheet and later analyzed using descriptive statistics. The association between the year and the number of citations was tested using Spearman's correlation. Nine works with the genus Philcoxia were found. According to the study, it is observed that out of a total of 28 authors, only three authors stand out: Scatgna (n = 7; 16%) Simões (n = 6; 13%) and Souza (n = 5; 11%) Of the 15 institutions that carried out the studies, six are Brazilian and correspond to 40% of the publications. Through the studies, it was concluded that the genus Philcoxia should be presented by the places where they are found, highlighting the importance of popular and scientific knowledge, characterizing and valuing regional habitats and species, encouraging conservation so that the extinction of species does not occur.
