Abstract

The present study provides a review of public policies for coping with sexual violence against women, in addition to describing the characteristics of the victim, of the violence, as well as the care received by women, both in the judicial and assistance spheres, with doctors and psychologists. . As a consequence of this review, this paper analyzes the clash over advances, setbacks and challenges of the theme in the light of the propositions of the health sector. It also highlights the consequences of violence and the outcome of the pregnancy, thereby applying continuity or interruption. The basis that constitutes the referred work are institutional documents and selected articles on the theme, pointing out strategies for interventions proposed and carried out by the Unified Health System. This work exposes symbolic points in the reflection of challenges to be overcome by health managers in the current decade , such as the coverage and uninterruption of the precautionary and qualified services of the professionals involved, as well as the reception of sexually abused women, provided for by law. In the area of health, specifically to comprehensive care for women, the connection between gender violence and health is highlighted. With this, the importance of the study is emphasized by concluding various perspectives on sexual violence in the view of the victim and the care applied to the victim. same.
