Eucaristia, fonte e ápice da vocação presbiteral: fazei isto em memória de mim

Abstract

The present study aimed to present the relationship between the Eucharist and the Priest, as the source, summit and centrality of his vocation. As food that sustains his life, which is motivated to remember the saving action of Christ, placing himself as a food of faith and hope for the people. The Eucharist is the main and central raison d'être of the Sacrament of the Priesthood, in the Pastoral sphere to which it is inserted. The Eucharist is the point of reference of the priest, to which Christ himself is completely inserted, as a sacrifice of atonement for all mankind, a sacrifice in the proper sense, which is updated in the celebration. All of these approaches have their essential character in the Christian life, with their biblical and theological foundations having as a reference the Elder who exercises his sacred office mainly in the Eucharistic cult. The elders are instructed to generate and give birth to many spiritual children for the kingdom, for the ultimate glory, for God, through the testimony of life and the Eucharistic experience, trying to become more and more configured in the Master of teachers, in the Messiah , in the Son of God the Father, who is for all of us, eternal salvation and a link of unity with the Church and with humanity.
