O TRABALHO DO SERVIÇO SOCIAL NO ATENDIMENTO ÀS ADOLESCENTES ENGRAVIDADAS EM SITUAÇÃO DE VULNERABILIDADE NO CREAS

Abstract

This academic production addresses the work of Social Work with pregnant adolescents assisted by the Specialized Social Assistance Reference Center (CREAS) in 2024, analyzing the professional practice aimed at the social protection of pregnant adolescents and the strengthening of their autonomy and that of their families. Methodologically, this is a qualitative research developed through bibliographical and documentary research, with an analysis of institutional documents and legislation related to the rights of children and adolescents, health, and social assistance. The theoretical framework is mainly based on the contributions of Iamamoto (2010), Guerra (2011), and Sposati (2007), among other authors who discuss the theme.The main objective is to understand the duties and responsibilities of the social worker within the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS), highlighting their importance both in the development and implementation of public policies and in mediating between the demands of the population and the responses offered by the State. The research discusses the work of Social Work in assisting pregnant adolescents in situations of vulnerability, considering factors such as socioeconomic inequality, school dropout, fragile family ties, and difficulties in accessing sexual and reproductive health services. It is expected that this study will contribute to strengthening the debate on the role of Social Work in protecting pregnant adolescents, as well as fostering reflections on the effectiveness of public policies aimed at this group. Finally, it reinforces the relevance of the profession in confronting social inequalities and promoting equity, through strengthening the socio-assistance protection networks and expanding investments in public policies.
