The academic work, entitled "A CULTURA GOIANA TRADUZIDA EM ESTAMPAS: REPRESENTAÇÃO VISUAL ATRAVÉS DO DESIGN TÊXTIL", aimed to use Design as a powerful tool to value and preserve regional cultural manifestations that, in contexts of continental diversity like Brazil, are often underrepresented in visual language. Recognizing Goiás as a unique territory, rich in expressions encompassing music, religious festivals, typical cuisine, and the exuberance of the Cerrado, the project's central objective was the creation of an original visual identity translated into prints that could visually represent the most significant elements of Goian culture. The methodology adopted included a robust theoretical foundation on printmaking as a visual language and cultural representation, tracing its historical evolution from rock inscriptions to contemporary techniques (such as Batik, Screen Printing, and Block Printing), and establishing Design as a process of cultural observation and symbol translation. The detailed research and survey of visual elements involved investigating the cultural, historical, and natural aspects of Goiás, whose identity is marked by the mixing of Indigenous, Portuguese, and African peoples. The selection of references included icons from Flora (Pequi, Ipê, Baru), Fauna (Maned Wolf, Blue-and-yellow Macaw, Giant Armadillo), Traditional Festivals (Fogaréu Procession, Cavalhadas, Romaria do Divino Pai Eterno), and local Handicrafts (terracotta ceramics, embroidery, straw weaving). The most significant conclusions that enabled the formulation of the practical project indicate that printmaking, by incorporating the symbolism, aesthetics, and forms of the Cerrado and Goian traditions, transcends its decorative function, becoming a powerful visual device for belonging and symbolic affirmation of regional identity. The development of original prints was conceived to synthesize these elements into a hybrid and contemporary visual language, reinforcing Design’s communication with the audience through patterns loaded with cultural significance and representativeness.pt_BR
