<description>Título: Atuação fonoaudiológica nas dificuldades de aprendizagem de escolares após impacto da pandemia da covid-19 – revisão integrativa
Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant changes in the educational context, affecting the language, communication, and learning development of school-aged children. School closures, the adoption of remote learning, and the reduction of social interactions have contributed to increased difficulties related to reading, writing, verbal comprehension, and academic performance, amplifying the need for monitoring and intervention actions by education and health professionals. In this context, Speech-Language Pathology stands out as a fundamental area for the early identification, prevention, and intervention of learning difficulties observed in the post-pandemic period. Objective: To analyze the role of speech-language pathology in addressing learning difficulties in schoolchildren after the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic through an integrative literature review. Method: This is a qualitative bibliographic research study conducted in the SciELO, LILACS, Virtual Health Library (BVS), and MEDLINE databases, using descriptors related to Speech-Language Pathology, learning, language, schoolchildren, and COVID-19. Articles published between 2020 and 2026, available in full, in Portuguese, and related to the investigated theme were included. Results and Discussion: The results showed that the impacts of the pandemic went beyond the loss of school content, compromising linguistic, cognitive, emotional, and social skills essential for the learning process. An increase in difficulties related to reading, writing, oral language, attention, and memory was observed. The analyzed evidence demonstrated that speech-language pathology intervention contributes to the early identification of these difficulties and to the implementation of intervention strategies aimed at strengthening communicative and academic skills, especially when developed in partnership with the school and family. Conclusion: It is concluded that speech-language pathology plays an essential role in addressing the learning difficulties intensified by the pandemic, contributing to the promotion of learning, school inclusion, and the integral development of students.

<title>Índice de fadiga vocal em pregadores evangélicos da Igreja Assembleia de Deus Esperança</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucgoias.edu.br/jspui/handle/123456789/11074</link>
<description>Título: Índice de fadiga vocal em pregadores evangélicos da Igreja Assembleia de Deus Esperança
Abstract: The voice is the primary vector for interaction for evangelical preachers, who are classified as voice professionals due to the high demand and significant vocal intensity required in their ministerial practice. However, the lack of specific training and voice use in acoustically unfavorable environments expose these individuals to the risk of vocal fatigue, an important predictor for dysphonias. The objective of this study was to verify the vocal fatigue index in evangelical preachers from the Assembleia de Deus Esperança Church. A quantitative, analytical, observational, and cross-sectional study was conducted, approved by the Research Ethics Committee of PUC Goiás, with a sample of 20 preachers (80% men; mean age of 48.8 years), mostly with more than 10 years of ministerial experience (90%). Data collection was performed remotely via Google Forms, applying a sociodemographic/vocal habits characterization questionnaire and the Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) protocol. The results indicated low adherence to preventive behaviors, since 90% of the participants did not perform vocal warmup and 90% did not receive speech therapy guidance. Additionally, 75% reported vocal discomfort post-preaching and 80% reported the need to cough or clear their throat sometimes. In the VFI analysis, the mean scores obtained were 15.00 points for vocal fatigue and restriction (cut-off = 8.00), 5.65 for physical discomfort (cut-off = 1.50), and 8.8 for recovery with rest without conversion, positioning it above the cut-off point (8.50). The weighted total VFI score was 23.85 points with conversion, exceeding the normality limit of 11.50. It is concluded that evangelical preachers are characterized as professionals exposed to severe occupational risks of vocal fatigue, a profile evidenced by the high total score and marked signs of tiredness post-activity. However, the preserved recovery capacity acts as a protective factor, indicating that the development of chronic dysphonias can be effectively prevented through speech-language pathology programs focused on conditioning, vocal warm-up/cool-down techniques, and rest management.

<title>Interferência do refluxo laringofaríngeo (RLF) na produção vocal: revisão narrativa</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucgoias.edu.br/jspui/handle/123456789/11073</link>
<description>Título: Interferência do refluxo laringofaríngeo (RLF) na produção vocal: revisão narrativa
Abstract: Introduction: The human voice is an essential element for communication and the expression of subjectivity, relying on the harmonic and biomechanical interaction of the vocal apparatus. The balance of this system can be destabilized by Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR), a condition characterized by the retrograde flow of gastroduodenal content into the larynx and pharynx. Due to the direct action of hydrochloric acid and pepsin, inflammatory processes, cellular dehiscence, and tissue remodeling occur in the vocal mucosa, altering its vibration patterns and causing deviations such as hoarseness, roughness, and vocal fatigue. Objective: To analyze the influence of LPR on voice production through a narrative literature review. Methodology: An active search was conducted in the PubMed database between February and May 2026 using combined descriptors (AND) correlated to voice, dysphonia, and LPR. Full-text scientific articles in English or Portuguese published between 2015 and 2025 were included, resulting in a final sample of 13 studies analyzed through a critical-discursive approach. Results and Discussion: There was robust consensus that LPR deteriorates the viscoelasticity of the vocal folds and alters objective short-term acoustic parameters, generating reproducible elevations in jitter and shimmer. Symptoms such as chronic throat-clearing and dry throat act harmfully through compensatory overloads. However, marked inconsistencies exist in the literature: studies with voice professionals fail to demonstrate a direct linear statistical association between visual laryngeal findings and voice disorders. Furthermore, it was detected that the Reflux Symptom Index (RSI) generates significant false-positives due to the diagnostic overlap of hoarseness. In the therapeutic field, behavioral speech therapy interventions showed robust and superior efficacy in recovering voice quality compared to isolated treatment with Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). Conclusion: LPR significantly influences voice production by modifying the myoelastic properties of the larynx. However, the absence of a direct linear causal relationship demands caution in clinical diagnosis and reinforces the indispensability of behavioral speech therapy over exclusive pharmacological approaches.

<title>Influência da intervenção fonoaudiológica no desfecho clínico da disfagia neonatal</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucgoias.edu.br/jspui/handle/123456789/11027</link>
<description>Título: Influência da intervenção fonoaudiológica no desfecho clínico da disfagia neonatal
Abstract: Introduction: Neonatal dysphagia compromises the coordination between sucking, swallowing, and breathing, affecting feeding and development. Prematurity, neurological immaturity, and oral-motor alterations increase the risk of feeding difficulties and aspiration. Early speech-language pathology intervention is essential to identify clinical signs and guide interventions that promote safe feeding. Objective: To analyze the influence of early speech-language pathology assessment on the outcomes of neonatal dysphagia. Method: This study is na integrative literature review with a qualitative approach, conducted in the BVS,PubMed,SciELO,LILACS,CAPES Portal, and Google Scholar databases. Studies publishe between 2015 and 2026 on neonatal dysphagia, early intervention, and neonatal speech-langusge pathology were selected, snd their data were descriptively analyzed. Results: One hundred one studies were identified, of which ten comprised the final sample after applying the inclusion and exclusin and exclusion criteria. Studies have shown that early speech-languagr therapy intervention promotes the development of oral feeding skills, improves nutritive and non-nutritive sucking, optimizes sucking-swallowing-brearhing coordination, and reduces the time required for the transition to solid food. Contributions to the establishment and maintenance of breastfeeding were also observed, as well as better clinical outcomes during neonatal hospitalizatioj. Prematurity, low birth weight, and neonatal dysphagia were highlighted as factors frequently associated with feeding difficulties. Conclusion: It ismconcluded that speech-language therapy intervention plays a fundamental role in the development of oral feeding skills in premature newborns, promoting sucking-swallowing-breathing coordination, the transition from tube feeding to oral feeding, and the establishment of breastfeeding. However, clinical outcomes also depend on other factors, such as clinical conditions, gestational age, and multidisciplinary care, highlighting the need for further research on the subject.
