Traffic crashes represent a significant public health problem due to high morbidity and mortality, social and economic impacts, and the burden placed on health services. This study aimed to describe the temporal distribution of hospitalizations due to traffic crashes in the state of Goiás between 2013 and 2023, analyzing health macro-regions, the sociodemographic profile of victims, and cause groups according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). This is a descriptive, retrospective study with an epidemiological approach, conducted using secondary data obtained from the Unified Health System's Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS), made available by DATASUS. Hospitalizations recorded in the health macro-regions of Goiás state were analyzed, considering the variables: year of hospitalization, age group, race/color, sex, and cause groups classified under ICD-10 codes V01 through V89. During the analyzed period, 141,446 hospitalizations due to traffic crashes were recorded, showing an increase of over 100% between 2013 and 2023. The Central West and Central-Southeast macro-regions recorded the highest numbers of hospitalizations. A predominance of males (71.9%), individuals of mixed race (*pardo*), and the 20–39 age group an economically active demographic at higher risk of traffic-related incidentes was observed. Regarding the categories of those involved, motorcyclists and pedestrians stood out, accounting for the majority of recorded hospitalizations. The study concludes that there was a significant increase in hospitalizations due to traffic accidents in Goiás over the decade, predominantly affecting young and adult men, particularly motorcyclists and pedestrians. These results underscore the need to strengthen public policies regarding prevention, traffic safety education, enforcement, and road infrastructure improvements, with the aim of reducing morbidity and the costs associated with traffic accidents.
